Marlon Poker

Background: In an attempt to liven up the traditional 7 card stud game, this game was developed so the pot would continue to grow even if nobody raised. Named after one of the original knights of the poker table, Marlonious Funk. It is said that in the early days of this game, Marlon lost large sums of money by "unluckily" always getting the highest card.

Number of Betting Rounds: 5

Draws/Deal: Typical 7 Card Stud (1st deal = 2 down and 1 up, then the next 3 deals up, and finally last deal face down)

Wild Cards: None unless dealer calls.

Other Rules / Notes:

1. There is penalty of 50 cents for whomever has the highest card showing in EACH of the first 4 deals.

2. If you have the highest card showing you MUST pay penalty and can not fold until the beginning of the next round.

3. In the event there are 2 people with the highest card, both people pay the penalty.

4. If there are wild cards then anyone who gets the wild card automatically has the high card and must pay the penalty.
